About Forrest Edens
We specialize in working directly with our build partners to create meaningful relationships and intentional spaces, all while optimizing value. We bring the unique skills and experience of a select group of tradespeople to our projects ensuring project integrity.
Our Process
Many partners come to us with an idea, a dream, but nothing concrete. They know they want to build, but they don’t know the process. This is where we shine. Of course, if a client has everything in place, great. Lets get started!
Many build partners come with nothing but a dream. We specialize in walking you through, step by step, the entire process. We want to help you build the home that you want, in the place that you want to be. This is why we refer to you as a partner, not a client. We are not here to tell you what to do, but to work through the process together.

We want to work with you to help design and optimize your project. We bring integrity to this process through the following steps:
- Prepurchase site evaluation for buildability
- Preconstruction coordination of site planning
- Design consultation and value engineering of building plans
- In house budgeting with build partner input
- Permitting
- In house site development services including septic and other utility installation
- Building phase implementation
- In house custom trim services

Our Team
Forrest Edens
OWNER
Forrest is a long time resident of Western North Carolina and a graduate of Warren Wilson College in Swannanoa NC with degrees in Sustainable Forestry and Wildlife Biology. Additionally, Forrest has an Associates Degree in Civil Engineering Technologies from ABTech in Asheville. He is also currently pursuing his Accredited Builder Certification through NCBI. As company owner Forrest brings 20 years of diverse construction experience from foundations through trim. His background and knowledge of construction techniques and building science make him a great resource to have on any project.
Hunter Light
PROJECT MANAGER
As a long term Asheville and Buncombe County resident, Hunter Light brings a deep understanding of the region’s building landscape and has an extensive background in residential construction. Serving as Project Manager, Hunter is committed to providing building partners with a seamless, direct connection from the inception of a project through to its final completion. His focus on clear communication and hands-on management ensures that every project meets high standards of quality and craftsmanship, upholding the reputation of Forrest Edens Builder, LLC as a premier custom builder in Western North Carolina.
Aaron Zeretzke
PROJECT MANAGER
The newest project manager at Forrest Edens Builder, Aaron draws on a diverse work experience. Coming from a family farming background in Kansas he has spent the last decade in residential construction in Western North Carolina. Aaron draws on his experience to bring an exceptional work ethic and critical thinking skills to Forrest Edens Builder. When he’s not riding his mountain bike, Aaron focuses on site work and foundation installation ensuring that all of our projects have a solid start.
