Woodland Craftsman Cottage

A classic diamond in the rough, this renovation project in the Grovemont Community set into the hills above Swannanoa captures the essence of the traditional Craftsman cottage. Purchased from the original owners’ family this 1939 cottage was in disrepair. A two year design and complete renovation process resulted in a warm and welcoming space that draws you in and makes you feel at home in the mountains and provides a connection through time to when the cottage was built. An original basement apartment set within the fieldstone foundation was renovated to be a flexible space that can be used as a short term rental or a guest suite. A spacious covered porch was also added off the dining area to further ground the home to the land. From an original square footage of 1250 square feet the renovated space came finished well over 2500 square feet.
