When you are sitting on the stunning steel framed deck we added to this already astounding custom log cabin you truly feel that you are sitting on an island in the sky. Given the extremely tight site considerations, the homeowner chose to use steel to clear span the driveway. Continuing this structural decision into the aesthetic design the deck incorporates custom cable railing and steel stair stringers. To blend the modern deck design with the traditional log cabin Douglas Fir treads were used on the stairs and a warm wood tone was used for the stain, matching the composite decking. Stone veneer wrapped around the column pedestals complete the connection to both the natural site and the extant traditional architecture.
